Chilling in Shetland 🌊
The vibe here was so chill, like a lekker bushveld retreat—loved the food, best chicken schnitzel ever! The brekkie was proper too, fresh and filling. Room was comfy, just what I needed after a long trip!
Only downside was some of the stairs got a bit tiring when I was hauling my bags up. Got a bit of a workout in, you know!

The unique and quirky room decor definitely adds a touch of character. it’s not what you see every day. The views of the Tingwall Valley are stunning, providing a real sense of the Shetland landscape right from your window.
The dining options leave a lot to be desired, with a limited dinner menu that lacks variety and flavor, which can be pretty disappointing after a long day. The soundproofing is insufficient, so expect to hear noise from other guests, and the bathroom layout can feel a bit tricky, making it less accessible for some. Plus, if you're hauling luggage, those stairs might turn your arrival into a mini workout since there’s no lift. The breakfast selection could also use a bit more diversity, especially when it's the most expensive place around.

missingWrote a review on Nov 18hard bednoisy chair
while the room was clean, the bed was hard and cramped, making it impossible to sleep peacefully. and let’s not even discuss that chair at breakfast—it nearly collapsed! of course, I expected some complimentary gesture for my troubles, but was left utterly disappointed. I almost thought of giving a good review but just couldn’t!

the decor was quirky and the breakfast was lovely, which added to the charm of the stay, while being just a pleasant stroll away from Betty's Reading Room and beautiful Tingwall Loch made it easy to enjoy serene views and explore the local area.

Recommend it for a cozy family stay
The warm welcome from David and his family made my stay feel like home. I loved the comfort of the large, clean room and the delicious breakfast that was made with local ingredients.
It wasn’t exactly economical, but still acceptable for the quality provided.
